A quick thought from yesterday.
Gods love for his children = Not based on outer circumstances, the core of it doesn’t fluctuate , although he may be more or less joyous with us at times, his love for us doesn’t fluctuate. When it seems like its fluctuating it’s really just us that are turning from him. Gods love is totally sacrificial, it cost him a lot to love us. God is all about God, he lives to glorify his holy name not us. Within that parenthesis our glorification happens though…
Our love to others= Very circumstantial, we often leave when things get tough. We often unconsciously give to get something back. Our love seeks to glorify objects and make temporal objects into Gods to love…
Our view of love towards Christ = We become prideful when we assume to “Deserve” love.. In reality we don’t even deserve tomorrow. What we DO deserve though is eternal shame although God spares is. We tend to glorify ourselves instead of realizing that God deserves all of the glory.
Love in action
Let us be challenged by these ideals
Trusting God in the good and especially in the bad
To share the message of the gospel to others in great humility
Doing the good works that he has prepared us but we don’t Merit his affection
Thinking about ourselves last as we serve others, others that are hated
To make his name known among the cities By thinking of ourselves last
